San Jose, CA--January 27, 1997--VLSI Libraries Inc. (San Jose, CA) announced that SGS-THOMSONMicroelectronics N.V. (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) has signed a newagreement to have VLSI Libraries develop advanced memory generators in deepsubmicron technologies for SGS-THOMSON. Under this agreement, VLSILibraries will develop a variety of high-performance embedded memorygenerators for SGS-THOMSON's HCMOS7 (0.25 m) and HCMOS8 (0.18 m)processes.
This collaboration agreement extends the relationship the two companiesfirst forged in 1992. The new agreement continues the companies'relationship through December, 2000.
VLSI Libraries' products are used extensively by SGS-THOMSON; more than 200SGS-THOMSON designs in 1996 included products from VLSI Libraries. Withthis new agreement, VLSI Libraries will provide many of SGS-THOMSON'sworldwide embedded generator memory needs through the year 2000, beginningwith several 0.25 m memory generators to be delivered in 1997. VLSILibraries will provide most of the generator framework, circuit designs, circuit layout, and relevant EDA tool views. VLSI Libraries will alsocreate and execute the silicon validation of these products.
