Milpitas, CA--February 27, 1997--LSI Logic Corp. (Milpitas, CA) filed suit in Santa Clara County Superior Court against two former employees and their corporation for trade secret misappropriation related to LSI Logic's ATMizer product.
LSI's ATMizer device is a programmable ATM network controller, which performs segmentation and reassemble (SAR) of the ATM layer functions and incorporates a 32-bit CPU.
The defendants, Paul V. Bergantino and William N. Giudice, are both former employees of LSI Logic Corp. The third defendant, Maker Communications Equipment Corp., is a corporation founded by Bergantino and Giudice to sell a competing ATM network controller.
LSI believes that its trade secrets were misappropriated by Bergantino and Giudice and used in a new product just introduced by Maker Communications, the MXT3010. LSI Logic is seeking injunctive relief and damages.
