Redmond, WA and San Jose, CA--February 24, 1997--Microsoft Corp. (Redmond, WA) and Cisco Systems Inc. (San Jose, CA) announced they will collaborate to integrate and improve security solutions in the enterprise.
Microsoft will be a founding partner of the new Cisco Enterprise Security Alliance. The goals of the alliance are to deploy interoperable, standards-based security across networked clients, servers, and infrastructure, and to enable consistent, centrally-managed security policy for enterprise customers.
Within the Enterprise Security Alliance, Cisco and Microsoft have identified a joint road map for network security. They will develop a common specification and will work together on key technologies such as IPsec and digital certificates.
