Sunnyvale, CA--March 26, 1997--Integrated Systems Inc. (ISI; Sunnyvale, CA) reported total revenue of $29.4 million for its fiscal year 1997 fourth quarter, ended February 28, 1997, an increase of 19 percent over the fourth quarter revenue of fiscal year 1996. Product revenue for the fourth quarter of fiscal 1997 increased 32 percent from the same period last year while services revenue, which includes product maintenance and consulting contracts, was essentially unchanged from the prior year.
Net income for the fourth quarter of fiscal 1997 was $2.5 million, up from $0.7 million reported for the same period in fiscal 1996. The fiscal 1996 fourth quarter included pre-tax acquisition related and other expenses of $3.7 million. Excluding the acquisition related and other expenses, primary earnings per share were $0.11 in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 1997, compared to $0.17 for the previous year's fourth quarter.
For the full fiscal year 1997, total revenue was $105.5 million compared to $84.4 million for the previous fiscal year, an increase of 25 percent. Product revenue was $69.3 million for fiscal year 1997 compared to $51.6 million for fiscal year 1996, an increase of 34 percent. Services revenue increased to $36.2 million in fiscal 1997 from $32.8 million in fiscal 1996, an increase of 10 percent. Excluding the acquisition-related and other expenses, primary earnings per share were $0.47 for fiscal year 1997 and $0.50 for fiscal year 1996.
