RSA, Japan Receives Equity Investment from Nichimen, NEC, and Sony
Tokyo, Japan--March 21, 1997--RSA, Japan, a majority owned subsidiary of RSA Data Security Inc., which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Security Dynamics Technologies, announced the completion of equity participation from Nichimen Corp., NEC Corp., and Sony Corp. In a press conference held in Tokyo, Jim Bidzos, chairman and representative director of RSA, Japan announced the equity participation from the three companies.
Earlier in October 1996, RSA, Japan had announced NTT Electronics Technology Inc. as its first equity investor.
RSA, Japan's operational plan was outlined in the conference announcing RSA, Japan's product offerings, pricing, OEM licensing, and export consulting services for Japanese customers. RSA Data Security Inc. had earlier assigned RSA, Japan the OEM licensing rights to cover Japan as its exclusive territory and Asia Pacific region as non-exclusive territory.
RSA, Japan announced availability of genuine RSA toolkits BSAFE, BCERT, TIPEM J/PAY, as well as RSA's disk and file encryption application software RSA SecurPC. RSA Data Technology Inc. has also reassigned to RSA, Japan several OEM licensces from Japan who had earlier entered into OEM licensing agreements with RSA Data Security Inc. preceeding formation of RSA, Japan.
