Santa Clara, CA--March 18, 1997--Electroglas Inc. (Santa Clara, CA) announced that it has agreed to purchase 21.5 acres of undeveloped land, in south San Jose, CA's Edenvale Technology Park, to build a 400,000-square-foot corporate campus. The planned campus, to be located on Silver Creek Valley Rd., will more than double the company's current capacity. The new Electroglas site will house all marketing, manufacturing and customer operations, engineering/R&D, a global training facility, a customer demo center, and all corporate administrative functions. Construction is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 1997, with the move-in of Electroglas employees slated for early 1999.
Electroglas, which has experienced nearly 24 percent compound annual growth over the last three years, currently leases several buildings in Santa Clara. This purchase will enable the company to consolidate its facilities into a single site. Electroglas' new corporate campus will accommodate the large-scale R&D programs and increased manufacturing capacity needed to support growth in the semiconductor industry.
