Mountain View, CA--April 23, 1997--Sun Microsystems Inc. (Mountain View, CA) announced the creation of the Trading Special Interest Group for the Sun Java Financial Object Xchange (J.F.O.X.) program.
The J.F.O.X. Trading Special Interest Group will be led by an impressive roster of industry experts who will play an active role in the creation of Java-based solutions for the financial services community including JavaBeans and middleware components. J.F.O.X. is a cooperative forum that offers developers in the financial services market a way to share and promote the latest in Java applications, tools, and resources.
As the first in a series of J.F.O.X. Special Interest Groups, the Trading Special Interest Group has attracted industry members such as Nomura Europe, BankBoston, Lehman Brothers, MIT, Fusion Systems Group, Rogue Wave Software, and Sun Microsystems itself.
The J.F.O.X. Trading Special Interest Group is scheduled to release its first set of JavaBeans components in the third quarter of1997. JavaBeans that are currently slated for delivery include time/calendar management and money/currency manipulation.
Components and class libraries developed by the J.F.O.X. Special Interest Groups will be available on the J.F.O.X. Web site (www.jfox.com), enabling developers across the financial services industry to benefit from the groups' collaborations.
