Santa Clara, CA--May 28, 1997--InteGraphics Systems (IGS; Santa Clara, CA) announced that the company is providing multimedia accelerators for Sun Microsystems' JavaStation family of network computers. The chips will enable JavaStations to display high-resolution graphics and video across enterprise intranets and the Internet.
The IGS product features a 64-bit graphical user interface, 200 MHz RAMDAC, and clock synthesizer. The field proven product is part of a growing family of IGS multimedia accelerators, which will assure continuing support for later Java announcements.
The IGS multimedia accelerator extends the potential for the JavaStation network computer's rapid acceptance. The IGS chip can be used to display graphics and capture and playback video over the Net. It can support most screen resolutions with 16/24/32-bit color images, and it can also handle the mixed color depth of graphics and video.
