Austin, TX--May 27, 1997--Major consortiums representing EDA and silicon system design companies will again be located in one booth at this year's Design Automation Conference (DAC) to be held in Anaheim, CA, June 9-11. Organizations exhibiting in booth 2131 include CFI, EDAC, EIA/EDIF, SEMATECH, EIA/IBIS, and IPC. The DAC Executive Committee provides the booth space in support of the combined organizational efforts.
The impetus for these organizations to work together in efforts that promote technologies to enhance tool interoperability is a result of efforts being put forth by the EDA Standards and Technology Roadmap. The Roadmap, driven by the EDA Industry Council, is intended to provide designers with greatly enhanced EDA interoperability by improving design productivity, simplifying the management of design complexity, and reducing the cost of semiconductor and electronic system design. Ultimately, Roadmap efforts will enable systems-on-silicon capabilities driven by the National Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors developed by the Semiconductor Industry Association in (SIA) in 1994.
Organizations exhibiting in the EDA Standards booth are in support of, and have representation on, the EDA Industry Council. Additionally, these companies are working in conjunction with the Council to update the EDA Industry Standards Roadmap and identify areas needed for alignment with other industry-related roadmaps, such as SIA, NEMI, and IPC.
