Des Moines, IA--May 19, 1997--Microware Systems Corp. (Des Moines, IA) announced that M. Denis Connaghan has been named COO effective May 19, 1997.
In addition to his operating responsibilities at Microware Systems, Connaghan will also fill a seat on the company's board of directors as of the next meeting.
Most recently, Connaghan was president and CEO of Delphi Information Systems. He established the company's core business plan for product strategy and development, raising new capital and revitalizing customer relationships. He also streamlined operations and enhanced the organization's performance through strong emphasis on customer relations.
Prior to Delphi, Connaghan was vice president of technology and business unit general manager for IBAX, a joint venture between IBM and Baxter focusing on computerized solutions for healthcare providers. His efforts to increase the organization's efficiencies resulted in an overall increased margin of 75 percent. Under his leadership, IBAX received a national quality award for their customer service initiatives. Additionally, he held numerous executive positions at Pansophic Systems Inc.
Connaghan received his master's in business administration from the University of Chicago in 1990.
