Viewlogic Dominates Next-Generation FPGA Designs with Key Vendors to Ship Complete Language-Based Solutions, Including ViewSynthesis to All Customers
Marlboro, Mass.--June 25, 1997--Viewlogic Systems Inc. (Marlboro, Mass.) announced that three key FPGA vendors--Actel, Lucent, and Lattice Semiconductor--have chosenViewlogic to provide the language-based flow needed to design the next generation of complex programmable devices. Central to this solution is the shipment of architecture-specific synthesis to their customers by the three vendors. The solution also includesViewlogic's SpeedWave VHDL simulation tool, Intelliflow flow manager, ViewDraw design entry, and other tools required to perform language-based design of high-end FPGAs and to ease the transition from schematic-based design.
In support of the programmable vendors and their customers,Viewlogic has dedicated synthesis engineering resources to work closely with each vendor to take full advantage of new device architectures with improved optimization strategies that yield maximum gate utilization and high performance.Viewlogic has also used its Intelliflow technology to automate the various set-up files, scripts, and library pointers for each vendor's needs to create customized push-button flows.
The new vendors to ship language-based design kits will deliver aViewlogic solution, including the enhanced synthesis product, schematic capture, simulation, and flow management. Motorola has also announced an agreement withViewlogic to deliverViewlogic's synthesis and other language-based design tools.
