Sunnyvale, Calif.--June 24, 1997--Artest Corp. (Sunnyvale, Calif.) announces its formation to provide test services and test technology development for the semiconductor industry worldwide.
Founded by Jen Kao and Alan (Lanny) Ross, long-term veterans of the semiconductor industry, the company offers an expertise in mixed-signal device test.
Kao, Artest president and CEO, has been in the semiconductor business for 22 years. He was formerly vice president of worldwide assembly and test operations for VLSI Technology. Prior to that, he served as director of the ASIC Division at Fairchild/National Semiconductor. Ross, the chairman, has served in several key positions during his 35 years in the semiconductor and automatic test equipment (ATE) industries including president of Rockwell International Telecommunications and chairman of the board of directors for the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA).
Artest's initial customers include NEC, Trident Microsystems, Oak Technology, Aptos Corp., and several other semiconductor manufacturers. The company has also established partnerships with Siliconware of Taiwan and Japan's Mitsui High-Tec.
Artest is investing in state-of-the-art equipment for its test lab including multiple Schlumberger ITS 9000EXA high-performance mixed-signal test systems. These systems provide Artest with strong capability in both digital and analog IC testing.
