Sunnyvale, Calif.--June 19, 1997--Actel Corp. (Sunnyvale, Calif.) has appointed Hank Perret as vice president of finance and CFO effective immediately, according to John C. East, Actel CEO. Perret succeeds David M. Sugishita, who has resigned to take a similar position at Synopsys Inc. (Mountain View, Calif.), an EDA company.
For the past year and a half, Perret served as Actel's controller, holding day-to-day responsibility for all of the company's financial activity and treasury functions.
Perret brings more than 25 years of experience in all facets of financial management to the CFO position. Prior to joining Actel, he was site controller for Applied Materials' manufacturing division in Austin, Texas, beginning in 1992.
Before joining Applied Materials, Perret spent 12 years with National Semiconductor (Santa Clara, Calif.) in a variety of financial assignments, including divisional controllerships, worldwide wafer fab financial responsibility, and controller positions in remote manufacturing plants.
When National Semiconductor sold its Puyallup (Wash.) wafer manufacturing plant to Matsushita Semiconductor, Perret stayed with Matsushita as controller for the newly formed company.
Early in his career, Perret held financial positions with Syva Corp. (a pharmaceutical manufacturer), Raytheon Co.'s Semiconductor Division, and The General Electric Co.
Perret holds a B.S. in Business Administration (Accounting) from San Jose State University.
