QUALCOMM Signs CDMA ASIC License Agreement With LSI Logic
SAN DIEGO, July 30 /PRNewswire/ -- QUALCOMM Incorporated (NASDAQ:QCOM)today announced that it has signed a license agreement with LSI LogicCorporation of Milpitas, Calif. The agreement enables LSI Logic to develop,manufacture and sell cdmaOne (IS-95) Application Specific Integrated Circuits(ASICs) to QUALCOMM's subscriber equipment licensees for digital cellular,personal communications services (PCS) and wireless local loop applicationsaround the world.

"By adding CDMA to its portfolio ofcapabilities, LSI Logic stands to gain an even larger share of this lucrativemarket."
With this agreement, LSI Logic becomes the fourth ASIC supplier toworldwide CDMA markets. CDMA is the digital technology of choice for digitalcellular and PCS in the United States. CDMA offers better voice quality withlonger talk and standby times and greater wireless access to millions ofsubscribers.
