Wilsonville, Ore.--Sept. 29, 1997--Mentor Graphics Corp. (Wilsonville) announced that its world-class family of board-level tools will be available for NT-based platforms. Leading this complete printed circuit board (PCB) solution on NT is the Design Architect and Board Station line of tools.
Now designers seeking a mixed- or NT-only environment have available to them a complete selection of technologies for the design, layout, analysis, and manufacturing of PCBs.
Design Architect is a complete schematic-based environment for both IC and PCB design processes. Its editing features and tight integration with simulation and board layout combine for a highly productive design environment.
The Board Station product family provides a range of analysis and design technologies to address virtually every challenge presented by today's PCB/MCM products, including high-speed digital design, RF analysis, and design for manufacturing/test. Advanced design methodologies such as concurrent design, team design and variant assembly design are also enabled by Board Architect, introduced earlier this year. The tool suite is completely customizable and provides customers with a strategic process advantage when tuned to their specific needs. The Library Management System (LMS) integrates tools for librarians to create, edit, and manage EDA libraries. It additionally allows designers to easily make the correct component choice, completing the flow.
The tools contain all the required data library interoperability and tool integration to work seamlessly in a mixed Unix and NT environment. Additionally, Mentor Graphics' new licensing technology allows the products to "float" across both Unix and NT systems.
