Santa Clara, Calif.--Sept. 25, 1997--Atmel Corp. (San Jose) and emWare (Midvale, Utah), an embedded Internet software company, announced an alliance that combines emWare's embedded web technology with Atmel's 8051 family of microcontrollers. emWare produces a device web server (1K) specifically designed for microcontroller-based embedded devices. emWare's technology allows manufacturers using microcontrollers to create graphical interfaces for their electronic devices, remotely control them over a network, and gather data from them.
The technology will be on display at emWare's booth #19 at the Embedded Systems Conference in the San Jose Convention Center.
The emWare Software Developers Kit provides an end-to-end solution--from the browser interface at the client, to the server software at the microcontroller. The kit is integrated with Symantec's Visual Cafe tools and includes the Atmel 8051 (AT89C2051) microcontroller. A single-user version is available for $1,250 (US) by calling emWare at 801-256-3883. Package options can include consulting, training and technical support.
