Sunnyvale, Calif.--Sept. 23, 1997--Ikos Systems Inc. (Cupertino, Calif.) announced that its Consulting Services organization has successfully completed a project for Oak Technology (Sunnyvale), a fabless multimedia semiconductor company, on the verification of their next-generation integrated MPEG-1 VideoCD Decoder chip for the consumer electronics market.
Ikos supported Oak's design team by providing comprehensive verification services including on-site consulting, Ikos NSIM hardware accelerator and Gemini CSX mixed-level Verilog simulator. The result was significant productivity improvements in Oak's mixed-level simulation of Verilog behavioral and gate-level design descriptions.
"Partnering with Ikos enabled us to beat time-to-market projections by nearly a full month," said Mark Hashemi, project manager for Oak's Imaging Business Unit.
The consulting services team supported Oak Technology's library development, and the integration of the Ikos NSIM hardware accelerator and Gemini CSX mixed-level Verilog simulator into the design environment. Ikos personnel worked on-site at Oak Technology's Sunnyvale facility to perform verification services needed to help Oak engineers meet their design schedule. Through the use of Ikos' tools and consulting services, Oak Technology has realized considerable productivity improvements in the verification of their design.
