Acton, Mass.--Sept. 22, 1997--Sente Inc. (Acton) and Simplex Solutions Inc. of Sunnyvale, Calif., announced an agreement whereby the two companies will jointly market their respective power design solutions.
The first activity specified in the agreement is to offer a series of free half-day educational seminars for IC designers, engineering managers, and verification engineers who need to better understand the full-chip deep submicron effects of power, learn ways to minimize power consumption, and know how to verify full-chip power integrity.
The first seminar will be held Wednesday, October 8 , from 1-5 p.m. at Simplex headquarters in Silicon Valley. A second seminar will be held Wednesday, October 15, from 1-5 p.m. at Sente headquarters in Acton.
Sente and Simplex Solutions have developed full-chip power solutions that can help designers of ICs and ASICs avoid costly fixes to silicon such as re-spins, heat sinks, and repackaging. Sente's Watt Watcher offers early power estimates on architectural power dissipation--before synthesis--at the register-transfer level. Simplex's Fire & Ice and Thunder & Lightning physical design solutions extract accurate capacitance and resistance values, and analyze the distribution of power throughout the chip. Thunder & Lightning can estimate electromigration risk on the power grid as well.
To register for either seminar, designers may contact Jody Fast at Simplex by telephone (408) 617-6114 or send e-mail to email@example.com.
