San Jose, Calif.--Oct. 30, 1997--Atmel Corporationhas expanded its worldwide integrated circuitdevelopment network with the acquisition of Fincitec Components Oy, a designgroup in Helsinki, Finland, whose background emphasizes digital signalprocessing and the development of analog circuits.
Atmel maintains eight development centers worldwide for the design anddevelopment of standard products as well as application specific devices.
Fincitec Components Oy has concentrated on developing digital signalprocessing (DSP) and analog circuits for the telecommunications, personalcomputer, digital audio, energy metering, and industrial data acquisitionmarkets. The company has developed proprietary and patented circuit designsin digital signal processing as well as analog-to-digital anddigital-to-analog converters.
Atmel plans to expand the current development group of 14 employees byadding additional design engineers as the company experiences increasingdemand for its products and services.
