Synopsys Announces Support For Xilinx XC4000XV Family, Industry's Highest Density FPGA Devices
Mountain View, Calif.--Oct. 27, 1997--Synopsys, Inc., a supplier of high-level semiconductor design solutions, announced fullsupport for the Xilinx XC4000XV family of FPGAs.
Support is available through Synopsys FPGA Compiler, FPGA Express, and Design Compiler products. Optimized XC4000XV synthesis libraries for FPGA Compiler and Design Compiler are available through Xilinx. Architecture-specific synthesis algorithmswithin FPGA Express make it possible for designers to take full advantage of the high-density, high-performance XC4000XV device architecture.
FPGA Express offers both a push-button synthesis flow, typically used for lower density devices, and a constraint-driven flow allowingusers to precisely control the Xilinx M1 software in a push-button mode for the smaller family members or in a constraint-driven mode for the larger family members.
Timely support of the XC4000XV family in all of Synopsys synthesis products is a result of a close cooperation and alignment of product road maps.
Synopsys is currently focused on addressing the needs of high-density FPGA designers by providing advanced tools and methodologies for FPGA design.
By leveraging an extensive technology portfolio and tremendous experience base, Synopsys continues to deliver the most advanced tools and methods to the FPGA market.
Xilinx and Synopsys have an exclusive agreement to fullyintegrate the Synopsys FPGA Express technology into Xilinx FoundationSeries solutions. This partnership expands the synthesis technology capabilities of Foundation Series to address the needs of the entire spectrum of programmable logic design. Additionally, the companies are in the fourth-year of a five-year successful technology alliance.
