Research Triangle Park, N.C.--Nov. 18, 1997--Red Hat Software (Research Triangle Park) announced the December 1 availability of vendor-backed commercial supportcontracts for Red Hat Linux, the high value operating system that canbe used as a Unix workstation for applications ranging from Internet serversto reliable workgroup computing.
Contributing to the momentum of Red Hat Linux in the commercial world,these support contracts are now available for the Intel platform, with supportto be provided for the Alpha and Sparc platforms in 1998. This support forRed Hat Linux is available through independent organizations, called Red HatSupport Partners, who receive access to and support from Red Hat's technicalexpertise and commercial resources.
Resources that are an integral part of Red Hat's support program includean Internet-based solution database of technical information, a centralizedtrouble ticket system, a technical mailing list, and assistance with difficultsupport questions provided by Red Hat's support and development departments.
