Paris, France--Feb. 23, 1998--Sente, Inc., based in Acton, Mass., hasexpanded the capability of its power analysis tool suite by offering an optionthat will generate a World Wide Web-based representation of an integratedcircuit.
Designers using Sente's Watt Watcher can now generate a full Web Siterepresenting an IC, designed in either Verilog or VHDL, with the new Watt Watcher World Wide Web (W5) option. The Web Site can be accessed by anyone on the Corporate Intranet and provides up-to-the-minute information on designs analyzed with Watt Watcher. Project teams can determine if power budgets are met or see where power issues exist. Demonstrations of Watt Watcher and its W5 option will be shown continuously,now through Thursday, Feb. 26, during DATE98 at Le Palais des Congres deParis, Porte Maillot, in the Sente Booth #62.
Watt Watcher compiles a full IC design into a database that is analyzed forpower or area. It offers full Verilog and VHDL support and supports bothpresynthesis and gate-level design representations. Watt Watcher integratesinto the most popular simulator and synthesis environments.Watt Watcher's W5 option allows designers with any Web browser to traverse the design hierarchy, view the complete IC power, the number and type ofclocks in the design, and the estimated area for the IC and subblocks. The W5 option, available with Watt Watcher version 2.4.1, is shipping today on Sun Microsystems workstations running Solaris or SunOS and onHewlett-Packard workstations running HP-UX.
