Fremont, Calif.--March 24, 1998--Credence Systems Corp. (Fremont) announced the hiring of Robert J. Rudy as vice president of quality.
A veteran of the semiconductor industry, Rudy will initially perform an extensive evaluation of the current quality system, to be followed by the implementation of recommendations for system improvements and expansion.
Recently ISO 9001 certified, Credence Systems has a comprehensive quality system already in place, which Rudy will be in charge of maintaining. Reporting directly to Credence CEO Bill Bottoms, Rudy will spearhead the effort to communicate the effectiveness of the current quality program and inform customers of improvements.
Rudy has held a number of prominent positions at technology driven organizations, most recently serving as director of account management and technology transfer at Sematech (Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology), a nonprofit research and development consortium of U.S. semiconductor manufacturers. While there, Rudy established an integrated customer relationship management system and created and managed aquarterly project assessment survey process for customer satisfaction evaluation.
Prior to his position at Sematech, Rudy was director of quality and information technology at ABB Transportation Systems, Inc., originating a company-wide quality system which achieved ISO 9001 registration within nine months. He also served in a variety of positions at Intel Corp., including manager of total quality deployment, whereby he was responsible for company-wide assimilation of the company's total quality system.
Rudy has a BS in Physics from the University of South Florida and a BS in International Management from Marylhurst College. He has published a number of articles on quality management and has been a member of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Board of Examiners.
