Boulder, Colo.--March 20, 1998--Attendees of the Design Automation Conference's (DAC) third annual "Workshop for Women in Design Automation" will come away with new ideas for career advancement. Through a variety of panels, tutorials, and presentations at the event on Sunday, June 14, top female executives will address common challenges and opportunities facing women in design automation.
Workshop keynote speaker Nora Denzel, senior vice president of Legato Systems, will kick off the day-long conference by addressing the 10 most common mistakes women make in the workplace. Using humor and personal experience, Denzel will share what she learned as she climbed the ladder to become one of IBM's youngest executives. She will also offer insight into how others can excel at an even faster pace.
Following the keynote, a panel of industry leaders will answer attendees' career questions and share their habits and techniques on how to succeed in the technical world. The workshop will continue in the afternoon with individual break-out sessions to help attendees develop action plans and end with a talk led by Barb Acosta, group director at Cadence and three-time Olympic trialist runner, who will share her vision on how to set and break personal records.
The Workshop for Women in Design Automation will be held in room 301 at the San Francisco Moscone Center, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
