Tel-Aviv, Israel--March 11, 1998--Chartered Semiconductor (Singapore)Manufacturing announced the opening of a new office in Tel-Aviv,Israel.
The new office establishes a regional marketing representative and customersupport capability for Chartered's Israel-based customers. The new officewill provide immediate access to Chartered's process technologiesfor wafer manufacturing and full turnkey solutions through thecompany's EDA and test and assembly partners. Chartered's global customerbase includes semiconductor companies with internal fabrication facilities,as well as fabless IC companies that use Chartered's wafer manufacturingcapabilities.
In addition, the Company has named Hod Finkelstein country managerresponsible for heading the new office. Mr. Finkelstein joins Charteredfrom Intel Corp.s Israel design center in Haifa, where he was adesign engineer. He holds a B.S.E.E. degree from Cornell University andhas completed a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in electricalengineering at Technion Israel Institute of Technology.
