Synopsys Announces Multimillion-Gate VHDL System Verification Solution
Mountain View, Calif.--March 16, 1998--Synopsys Inc. announced support for a cycle-based simulation interface for hardware and software coverification.
The ability to use Cyclone VHDL, Synopsys's cycle-based simulator, with the company's industry-leading Eagle hardware and softwarecoverification tools, gives designers the capacity needed to simulateentire systems that, until now, were too large to handle with VHDLevent-based simulation. The system verification solution hassuccessfully validated a customer's 24-processor network switchingsystem composed of multiple system-on-a-chip (SoC) designs, plusembedded software.
The challenge of validating SoC designs is significant. The gatecount trend has exploded over the last year, and validation is evenharder when it is required to verify multiple SoC chips together withembedded software.
Pricing for Cyclone VHDL and Eagle starts at $45,000 and$60,000, respectively. The new Cyclone/Eagle interface is availablenow at no charge to Cyclone and Eagle customers on current maintenancecontracts.
