San Jose--April 27, 1998--Duet Technologies, Inc. (San Jose) appointed William J. Harding of Morgan Stanley Venture Partners and David Strohm of Greylock to the company's board of directors.
In a related announcement, Duet also reported that the company has received its first round of outside funding from Morgan Stanley Venture Partners, Greylock, and Technology Crossover Ventures.
Harding is a general partner of Morgan Stanley Venture Partners, a venture capital company located in Menlo Park, Calif. and New York that manages funds capitalized at more than $500 million. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Harding was a general partner of several venture capital partnerships affiliated with J. H. Whitney & Co., which manages funds capitalized at more than $500 million. From 1976 to 1985, he held various technical and business development positions with Amdahl Corp. Prior to his tenure at Amdahl, Harding held several technical positions with Honeywell Information Systems.
Harding is currently a director of Chip Express Corp., Chromatic Research, Inc.; Commerce One Corp.; Duet Technologies, Inc.; Form Factor, Inc.; Interwave Communications, Inc.; Neuron Data, Inc.; Persistence Software, Inc.; Synergy Semiconductor Corp.; U.S. Healthworks; and Visioneer, Inc.
Strohm joined Greylock, a venture capital management company headquartered in New York, in 1980 and opened Greylock's Palo Alto, Calif. office in 1983. He has been a general partner of several venture capital funds affiliated with Greylock since 1983. Focusing on early stage information technology companies, Strohm served as a founding director of Mentor Graphics and Ascend Communications and led Greylock's involvement with Forte Software and Banyan Systems.
Strohm currently sits on the board of Doubleclick, Internet Security Systems, Legato Systems, and several private companies.
