San Jose, Calif.--May 25, 1998--Furthering its leadership instandards-based HDL design methodologies for programmable logic, Xilinx,Inc. (San Jose) announced a joint marketing agreement thatprovides VHDL simulation capabilities from Aldec, Inc.( Henderson, Nev.) to the growingnumber of Foundation Series users.
Active-VHDL's integration into the Foundation design environment benefitsdesigners by enabling push-button VHDL simulation, reuse of simulationtest vectors, and a common HDL editor.
Much of Aldec's technology is already featured within the FoundationSeries design environment, as part of an existing OEM relationship withXilinx.
Aldec's Active-VHDL software, with a free 30-day "Load-and-Go" evaluationlicense and a Xilinx application guide, is available today from Aldec.Xilinx Foundation Series customers will receive the free evaluationversion of the Active-VHDL simulator with all new Foundation Seriesproduct shipments, beginning with the next version of the software laterthis summer. All in-warranty Foundation Series customers willautomatically receive an update, which includes an evaluation copy of thesimulator. Aldec will provide all sales and support for Active-VHDLproducts.
