San Jose--May 14, 1998--Silicon Access, Inc. (San Jose) announced an agreement with United Microelectronics Corp. (UMC) Group to provide customers high-performance standard cell and I/O libraries tuned for UMC Group's new 0.25-micron processes. The partnership includes a full breadth of joint technical, sales, and marketing support.
The SiProven (Silicon Proven) libraries developed by Silicon Access are now tuned to UMC's foundry processes to produce ICs. The Accellerate standard cell and I/O libraries, containing over 700 cells, are fully characterized and verified with test chips processed at UMC to ensure customers delivery of working silicon.
As part of the agreement, both companies will provide technical, sales, and marketing support for the Silicon Access libraries and UMC's 0.25-micron chip manufacturing capability.
