Santa Clara, Calif.--May 18, 1998--Armed with $1 million in seed funding, Verplex Systems, Inc., located in Santa Clara, Calif., will be entering the formal verification software tools market this fall with a series of new products. The first verification product will target logic equivalence checking. The company has developed proprietary technology that will help companies get new products to market quickly by significantly speeding the verification cycle, while claiming to be complete and very easy to use. Verplex will preview its logic equivalence verification product at this year's Design Automation Conference June 15-18 in San Francisco.
Verplex is headed by two industry veterans with verification experience. President and CEO C. Michael Chang was the co-founder and president of Checklogic, an ATPG company which was acquired by Mentor in 1993. Chang previously held principal technical staff positions at Cadence Design Systems and at ECAD where he was responsible for developing symbolic routing and verification products. Vice president of Research and Development Kuang-Chien Chen has research experience at the University of Illinois and at Fujitsu Labs.
Verplex's formal verification product currently is in beta test at several companies, including a major U.S. ASIC manufacturer.
