Sunnyvale, Calif.--June 22, 1998--Actel Corp. (Sunnyvale) announced immediate availability of three new single-chip FPGA devices. PCI-compliant 36,000-gate and 24,000-gatedevices and a 2,000-gate device are the latest additions to Actel's MXfamily of ASIC alternatives.
The 36,000-gate A42MX36 offers 2,560 bytes ofdual-port SRAM and operates in pure 5.0, pure 3.3 or 5.0/3.3 mixed voltage.With a clock-to-out of 6.3 ns. The A42MX36 features 2,124 logic modules, upto 1,822 flip-flops and 202 I/Os.
The PCI-complaint, 24,000-gate A42MX24 device operates in pure 5.0, pure 3.3or 5.0/3.3 mixed voltage. With a clock-to-out of 6.1 ns, the A42MX24 features1866logic modules, up to 1,410 flip-flops and 176 I/Os.
With the MX family's advanced multiplex I/O structure, designers can achieve5.0-volt or 3.3-volt 33 MHz PCI-compliant output drives on the A42MX36 andA42MX24 by programming a chip-wide PCI-enable fuse. When PCI is notrequired, output drive is standard.
The 2,000-gate A40MX02 is the smallest device in the MX family, with aclock-to-out of 9.5 ns. It is used for high-performance logic interfacebetween processor, memory and I/O ports and multiple bus systems withcomplex timing selections. The A40MX02 features 295 logic modules, 147dedicated flip-flops and 57 I/Os.
The A42MX36, A42MX24 and A40MX02 are available in a wide selection ofpopular packages ranging from a 44-pin PLCC to a 272-pin PBGA. Pricing is$29.90 for the A42MX36, $12.30 for the A42MX24 and $2.30 for the A40MX02(1Q99 100K volumes).
