Sunnyvale, Calif.--July 27, 1998--Oki Semiconductor (Sunnyvale)announced immediate availability of its 0.25-m ASIC product seriestargeting the networking, telecommunications, multimedia, and computerperipheral markets, designated the MG113P/114P/115P gate array series andMG73P/74P/75P embedded array series.
Oki's 0.25-m ASICs enable customers to integrate IP cores from itsvarious networking, telecom, computer peripheral product groups, and thirdparty providers into a structured, system-level design flow that delivers ICsolutions via a much shortened development cycle.
Oki's 0.25-m ASIC products consist of the MG113P/114P/115P series in asea-of-gates (SOG) architecture and the MG73P/74P/75P series in an all-masksembedded array architecture, the latter utilizing Artisan Component's 300 MHzRAM compiler. The products will be supported by gigabit Ethernet MAC and32-bit ARM 7TDMI RISC CPU, as well as other functionalities including: DSP,embedded CODECs and DRAMs, ROM, ATM SAR, and PCI controllers. Oki's0.25-m ASICs feature staggers I/Os in 60-m pad pitch forpad-limited applications. They also offer product options incore-limited solutions utilizing three, four or five layers of metal.
With up to 5.4 million raw gates and featuring a drawn gate length of0.25 m, the ASIC family provides engineers with the option ofa gate array for fast prototyping or an embedded array structure for largeRAM and other embedded functions. The product seriesaccommodates mainstream 3.3-V applications, as well as applications requiringminimum power dissipation at 2.5-V operation. The series' feature set issupported by specialized I/Os including high-speed PECL and LVDS. TheASICs are available in QFP and BGA packages with up to 868 I/O padsin 60-m pad pitch.
Design release for the MG113P/114P/115P series and MG73P/74P/75P series has begun with full production beginning in Q4 1998. Production unitpricing will be in the approximate range of $0.00005/gate using QFPpackaging.
