Beaverton, Ore.--July 23, 1998--OrCAD (Beaverton) reported results for second quarter 1998. Revenue for second quarter 1998 increased 9 percent to $11.9 million from $10.9 million for the same period in 1997, and increased from $11.6 million in the preceding quarter.
Net income for second quarter 1998 was $1.5 million or $.16 per diluted share. This compares with second quarter 1997 net income of $1.3 million or $.14 per diluted share, excluding the one-time acquisition related charges. Including the acquisition related charges, net loss for second quarter 1997 was $160,000 or $.02 per diluted share.
For the first half 1998, revenue increased 13 percent to $23.5 million from $20.8 million for the same period in 1997. Excluding merger and acquisition related charges, net income for first half 1998 was $2.6 million or $.27 per diluted share, compared with $2.3 million or $.24 per diluted share for first half 1997. Including the merger and acquisition related charges, net loss was $73,000 or $.01 per diluted sharein 1998, as compared to net income of $820,000 or $.09 per diluted share in1997.
