Synopsys Will Release 31 NT-Ported Products Ahead of Schedule
Mountain View, Calif.--July 13, 1998--Synopsys, Inc. (Mountain View) announced availability of many of its EDA chip development tools, including Design Compiler, on workstations running Microsoft Windows NT. Synopsys will deliver the NT tools three months ahead of its commitment because of successful beta testing. Synopsys also announced support for five hardware brands with those new NT tools.
Windows NT versions of the tools are now fully supported on hardware offerings from Compaq, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, NEC, and Siemens-Nixdorf.
The availability of 31 Synopsys chip development tools on Windows NT will allow designers to operate in a mixed Unix/Windows NT environment. Designers will be able to use a Unix workstation one session and move to a Windows NT workstation for the next.
Orders can be placed immediately. Shipments will begin before the end of this quarter. Pricing for the NT-based products is the same as for the company's Unix versions.
