Harrisburg, Pa.--July 13, 1998--AMP, Inc. (Harrisburg) announces AMPredictor Signal Integrity Analyzer (SIA) software, an integrated suite of simulation and interface tools that enables digital system design engineers to perform complete-system, multiboard critical-net simulations-addressing signal integrity issues early in the pre-layout stage when critical design and component decisions must be made.
Major new features of SIA 3.0 include:
*Enhanced Net Topology Editor. The central interactive work area for version 3.0 features a new interface, including direct linkage to the AMPredictor Circuit Simulator Software. Drag-and-drop selections of graphical component icons facilitate the application of user-defined sub-circuits, multiline connector models, and lossy transmission line models into the critical net simulation, which can range from a single board layout to a complete-system design consisting of a backplane and multiple daughter boards and connectors.
*AMPSpice Circuit Simulator Software. The revised graphical user interface provides a new "virtual scope" format with enhanced functionality for measuring rise and falls times, delays, overshoot, and undershoot, and for evaluating cross-talk effects, setting noise margins, and performing timing analyses. New mathematical functions include multiplication, division, integration, and fast Fourier transform for frequency domain analysis.
SIA software can perform multiboard critical net simulations. It incorporates accurate connector models into critical net simulations, so the transition from one board to another is seamless. Also included is a Model Library Manager containing AMP single- and multiline connector models. Direct access to the AMP electronic catalog, AMP Connect, is provided.
The AMPredictor 3.0 Signal Integrity Analyzer Software is currently priced at $8,500 for a single-user license. Discounts are provided for multiple licenses.
