July 13, 1998--Mentor Graphics Corp.(Wilsonville) andGreen Hills Software (Santa Barbara, Calif.) announced they will combine theSeamless Coverification Environment (CVE) and the Multi source-level softwaredebugger to boost the productivity of embedded software developers who useboth Multi and Seamless CVE.
By presenting a single environment for both software development andhardware/software coverification, developers of boot-ROM code, device drivers,and hardware diagnostics who use Multi can now use SeamlessCVE without having to learn a second software debugger.
Under the terms of the proposed agreement, Mentor Graphics will market,distribute and support the Multi debugger, encapsulated in Seamless ProcessorSupport Packages.
The Multi Integrated Development Environment includes agraphical source level debugger, integrated text editor, version control,class browser, run-time error checking, and a graphical project builder. Multiinterfaces with Green Hills' optimizing compilers for C, C++, embedded C++,Ada 95, and Fortran. Multi supports architectures likeMotorola PowerPC, 68K, Coldfire, Hitachi SH and SH-DSP families, MIPS, ARM,Intel i960, and x86/Pentium.
