Beaverton, Ore.--July 9, 1998--OrCAD (Beaverton) announced it was named one of the fastest-growing companies in Oregon on lists in three top Oregon business publications: Oregon Business magazine, Portland Business Journal, and The Oregonian.
In Oregon Business Magazine, OrCAD ranked number 27 on the magazine's Oregon Technology Fast 50 list, which appeared in the June 15 issue of the publication, up from their number 38 position on last years' list. The rankings are based on percentage growth in revenues over the past five years. To participate, companies had to have revenues of at least $50,000 in 1993, and at least $1 million in 1997. In addition, Fast 50 companies are required to have headquarters in Oregon, and be either developers or providers of high-tech products or services. Deloitte & Touche LLP calculated the rankings of the companies.
OrCAD was listed at number 24 on The Business Journal Top 100 Fastest Growing Public Companies list, which appeared in the April 24 issue. The list was researched by William O'Neil & Co., the same firm that researches the annual Fortune 500 for Fortune magazine. The rankings were based on average percentage revenue growth over the last three years, and primarily included companies from Oregon and Southwest Washington.
OrCAD came in at number 45 on The Oregonian Top 50, a list of 1998's biggest companies in Oregon and Southwest Washington. This list was compiled by Nordby International, Inc. of Boulder, Colo. The companies were ranked by market value as of May 15, 1998. To qualify, companies must have been public since January, 1997, and their stocks must trade on the New York, Nasdaq, or American stock exchanges.
