San Diego, Calif.--August 10, 1998--Accel Technologies, Inc. (San Diego) announced the release of Accel Personal PDM, which promotes work-in-process management for users of Accel EDA electronic systems design software.
Personal PDM manages all data through a product's life cycle. It ensures secure data storage and transmission using a single-user, owner-protected vault. To help users get started, Accel has included project templates that suggest how to create an entire project data structure.
Accel has introduced links between Accel EDA and AutoCAD, where AutoCAD native files can be loaded and read into the PDM database. Personal PDM users also benefit from pre-defined project templates that are included with the program. The solution involves use of the free Adobe Acrobat Reader utility that allows viewing and printing of any file type, including Accel EDA, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and others in .pdf format. There is no per-seat charge for viewing files in a Web-centric environment.
Accel Personal PDM is available this month through authorized resellers worldwide. Operating on Windows 95 or NT 4.0 platforms, Personal PDM may be licensed for local or network use. It's priced at $2,500. Prices may vary outside of North America. Users should contact their local value added reseller or Accel for more information.
