San Jose--Sept. 29, 1999--Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. (San Jose) announced an expanded portfolio of embeddedcommunication cores to include Teaklite and Teak DSP cores,Ethernet 10/100 MAC, and IEEE 1394 Link.
These communication cores are targeted for XDSL/cable modems, 3Gcellular handsets, Voice Over IP (VoIP), Ethernet switches/hubs/NICs/routers,and Internet appliances such as digital set-top boxes.
The design environment used for these cores is "Cubicware" that enablesoptimization of ASICs for power consumption, die size, and performance. Also, designers will be able to customize many functions on a single ASICwhile using pre-defined standards-compliant building blocks. This portfolioenables designers to implement applications ranging from small office/homeoffice (SOHO), multi-port switching hubs and routers to single-port NICsolutions.
Samsung will be presenting its latest cores and technologies at theEmbedded Systems Conference in San Jose, through September 30.
