Montreal, Canada--April 27, 2000--GOAL Semiconductor, Inc. announced the appointment ofNick Tasker to the position of company president.
Tasker joined GOAL in January of 1999 asexecutive VP marketing & sales. Tasker brings with him experience from a number of senior positions within the electronics industry, the most recent being president of Task Microelectronics, Inc. (Montreal), which he founded in 1987. Prior to Task, he played a key role in establishing CMAC Industries in Montreal in 1984, afterserving time at Nortel and RCA (formerly) Electro-optics.
Tasker will play a pivotal role in the growth of the company. Hisresponsibility is to oversee company direction, provide leadership &vision and to lead the company into key emerging markets andapplications.
He will be replacing Gordon Harling who is leaving thecompany to pursue outside interests. Mr. Harling will work with GOALas technical advisor, on a consultancy basis.
The company also appointed Irving Lustigman as VP engineering.Lustigman joins GOAL from Wavesat Telecom, Inc. where he heldthe position of VP Broadband Wireless Access Products. He has heldpositions in the development of digital hardware, software, systemarchitecture as well as sales and marketing related positions for anumber of large and small corporations including IBM, Nortel, GeneralDatacomm Ltd and CAE Electronics.
His technical and leadershipexperience include backgrounds in high speed wireless modems, handheld computing, avionics, flight simulators, medical imaging, voice andvideo compression technologies, networking, DSP and ASICdevelopment.
Lustigman will be responsible for the management of theengineering team with emphasis on the enhancement of existingproducts and new product line development.
