Sunnyvale, CA - July 28, 2000 - Monterey Design Systems announcedthat Infineon Technologies has signed a multi-yearbusiness agreement to provide the Dolphin place and route solution. Underthe terms of the agreement, Infineon will be using Monterey's new GlobalAccess licensing model to provide an additional solution.

"Monterey's focuson DSM global optimization and providing standard interfaces for tools andlibrary, attracted us to provide Dolphin as one of the backend solutions toour designers. We believe that Monterey's Global Access Model will allowboth companies to work closely together in a very flexible and successfulway."
With Monterey's Global Access Model, Monterey collects revenue uponsuccessful silicon tape-out. This model ensures a strong commitment fromMonterey to support successful completion of their designs and completelytransforms the interaction between the supplier and the customer. Byintegrating Monterey Design Systems into the semiconductor food chain, themodel further creates an environment conducive to obtaining results andmaximizing productivity of the design groups, the company said.
