San Jose, CA - July 31, 2000 - Cadabra Design Automation, Inc., a provider of automated layout creation tools, and Cadence Design Systems, Inc. today announced that Cadence's simulation andextraction tools will be incorporated into Cadabra's Library Factory flow.
Library Factory is an automated flow that enables IC designers using asemi-custom design methodology to quickly develop high quality standardcells and libraries. With the integration of Cadence's simulation andextraction tools into Library Factory, designers will be able to quicklycreate libraries that optimize designs for performance and power, the company said.
"Traditionally, cell-based designs have used rigid cell libraries developedby people that have very little knowledge of the designs," said AnjaneyaThakar, Cadabra vice president of marketing. "Restricting designers tothese libraries results in less-than-optimal designs. With Cadence's toolsembedded into the Library Factory flow, designers can develop higher qualitycustom cells and libraries in days rather than months.
Under theCadence Connections program, Cadabra will incorporate two of the company'stools into its Library Factory suite: The Spectre circuit simulator and The Diva physical verification and extraction suite.
