IRVING, Texas Aplac Solutions, a Finnish provider of analog, RF and electromagnetic simulation tools, has opened a U.S. office. The company's marketing director, Heikki Rekonen, will head up the operation in Irving, Texas.
Though Aplac opened shop in 1998, its simulator has a pedigree that dates back to 1972 and originates at Helsinki University. The simulator has been used in-house by Nokia for many years and is employed at other European companies such as Infineon, STMicroelectronics and Ericsson. Aplac said it has around 15 U.S. customers.
The Aplac simulator includes frequency-domain analysis, transient analysis and harmonic balance simulation. U.S. pricing starts at $8,000.
