San Jose, CA - October 30, 2000 - Cadence Design Systems, Inc. today announced the new 4.0 releases of Cadence Envisia Physically Knowledgeable Synthesis (PKS) and Ambit Buildgates synthesis tools.
These products, which integrate into the Cadence SP&R (synthesis/place-and-route) design flow, provide comprehensive datapath and low-power options, and high-performance design-for-test (DFT) capabilities, the company said.
Ambit Buildgates 4.0 also has a built-in, high-capacity, high-performance static timing analysis that enables productive timing closure, the company said.
The 4.0 releases of Envisia PKS and Ambit Buildgates synthesis tools now offer fully integrated datapath and low-power options. The Envisia Datapath Synthesis Option enables higher-performance datapath designs through high-level optimization techniques.
The Envisia Low-Power Synthesis Option features a synthesis analysis and optimization engine that concurrently optimizes designs against power, timing, and area constraints. The Low-Power Synthesis Option enables engineers to determine a design's power dissipation earlier in the design process, the company said.
"This new release of our synthesis tools delivers both improved performance and unique new functionality to our customers," said Jeff Roane, vice president of SP&R marketing at Cadence. "With the new integrated datapath and low-power options, a broader class of designers will realize gains in both productivity and quality-of-results. This release underscores Cadence's focus on synthesis technology and demonstrates our unwavering commitment to maintaining our significant performance advantage over competing solutions."
The 4.0 releases of Cadence Envisia PKS physical synthesis and Ambit BuildGates synthesis products are available worldwide for UNIX-based workstations from Hewlett-Packard and Sun Microsystems, and for AIX-based workstations from IBM. One-year U.S. list prices start at $100,000 and $12,000 respectively. Cadence Envisia Datapath Synthesis Option and Envisia Low-Power Synthesis Option one-year U.S. list prices start at $30,000 and $24,000 respectively.
