San Jose, CA - February 28, 2001 - Cadence Design Systems, Inc. announced that it has elected Susan L.Bostrom to its Board of Directors. Bostrom is senior vice president, Internet Business Solutions Group (IBSG) at Cisco Systems.
Under Bostrom's leadership, IBSG has expanded its reach to 50
percent of Fortune 500 companies, helping senior management executives
transform their businesses by using the Internet. Bostrom and her team
of consultants often draw upon many of Cisco's best practices to help
other companies develop their own Internet strategies and solutions.
In fiscal year 2000, Cisco said it realized financial benefits of nearly $1.4
billion to its bottom line from using the Internet across all aspects
of its business.

Bostrom was recently named by Fortune Magazine as one of "The 50
Most Powerful Women in Business." Prior to joining Cisco in 1997, she
served at McKinsey & Company for six years as a leader in the
Electronics Practice in Silicon Valley, focusing on Channel Management
and Business Process Re-engineering. She was with National
Semiconductor for two years, where she developed and assisted in
implementing National's strategy in the analog mixed-signal market and
served as senior vice president of Global Marketing and Strategic
Planning at FTP Software. She received her MBA from Stanford Graduate
School of Business.
