Cambridge-based ANT is expanding, with the opening of a US headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts.
The news follows the closure of a second funding round late last year. It is part of an aggressive expansion; the embedded Internet browser and e-mail software company told Electronics Times that it expects to triple sales this year to £6m.
Michael Hartford joins from Avnet Electronics as general manager in charge of North, Central and South America, and will be based in Boston. He said: "ANT has browser technology that is mature and stable, in a marketplace filled with relatively immature and unstable alternatives."
Simon Woodward, president and CEO of ANT, said: "We have seen exceptional growth in North America and this is an ideal time for us to establish headquarters on the East Coast to lend support to our Los Angeles office.
"We are investing heavily in our highly skilled sales, marketing and engineering teams to increase the span of our operations and secure market leadership."
