Minneapolis - Ault's MW116, a universal 60- to 90-watt switcher series available in a range of output voltages, simplifies development-to-production time for medical-equipment OEMs designing life care patient monitors, home care diagnostic systems and heart assist blood pumps. "We understand OEMs' rigid product requirements and safety agency certification issues," said Greg Harris, Ault's vice president of business development.
These universal desktop-style supplies are offered in 5-, 9-, 12-, 18-, 24- and 48-V models, and pack an internal primary-current fuse as well as inrush-limiting, short-circuit and foldback-overcurrent protection. Transient output response is 0.5 ms for a 50 percent load change; holdup time is 10 ms through the entire output range. The supplies, in an impact-resistant polycarbonate enclosure, start in the mid-$60s in quantities of 500.
