Dallas - Texas Instruments Inc. said its UCC37323/4/5 dual-MOSFET gate drivers, intended for a variety of switch-mode supply, low-voltage synchronous rectifier dc/dc converters and fractional-horsepower motor-control applications, feature a peak current output that's two to three times that of their closest competitor. They also boast improved noise immunity.
The chips utilize a combination of bipolar and MOSFET output stages to provide a maximum of 4 amps output during peak supply voltage. In addition, they deliver the high currents at supply voltages down to 4.5 V.
The drivers are available now. Pricing for the UCC37323 (dual inverting), UCC37324 (dual noninverting) and UCC37325 (one inverting, one noninverting stage) starts at 99 cents in quantities of 1,000 for the SOIC and PDIP-8 package versions, and $1.09 in the same quantities for the PowerPad MSOP package.
