WASHINGTON Alcatel USA Inc. and IPOptical Inc. said they have settled a trade secret dispute involving a former Alcatel employee.
Alcatel sued the former employee and IPOptical (Dulles, Va.), alleging that they infringed Alcatel copyrights and stole trade secrets. The former Alcatel employee and the privately held network equipment maker denied wrongdoing.
Details of the settlement were not disclosed, but Altcatel said it includes plans for a "cooperative working relationship" with IPOptical and an equity stake in the company.
"The settlement with Alcatel means that IPOptical can focus its energies on designing and developing innovative solutions for the next generation of router technologies," said Alex Mondrus, IPOptical's president and chief executive.
