DALLAS Texas Instruments Inc. has launched what it calls the first family of supervisory circuits able to monitor core voltages as low as 1.2 V, such as those found in the newest digital signal processors, microcontrollers and microprocessors.
The TPS312x family offers an integrated watchdog and manual reset function besides being able to monitor supply voltages down to 1.08 V. It is possible to add new options for handheld or portable products.
The devices are said to provide precision initialization and timing supervision of DSPs and other devices operating at 1.2, 1.5, 1.8 and 3 V.
Priced from 67 to 73 cents in 100-piece lots, they come in five-pin SOT-23 packages.
